New High School Marathi Shakha, Kolhapur
New High School Marathi Shakha is the first branch of the New Education Society, Kolhapur started in 1930. First held in the Jamsandekar building with 100 students only, the school was shifted afterwards to the Gayakwad wada and it earned a great reputation in the Babujamal area during the period between 1932 and 1985.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,Shaleya Poshan Ahar, Health check up, annual social celebrations of festivals like Shri Ganesh Festival, Haldi Kunku,Pan Supari, Vegitable Bazzar, Loksankhya Shikshan, Lek Wachava Abhiyan are some of the activities regularly conducted in the school. Free uniforms for the needy students and the computer laboratory are the main features of the school.
Major Achievement
Rank holders in the state scholarship examinations, merits in the singing competitions of the Sahyadri TV Channel, Championship in Gymnastics, ranks in science exhibitions, Veermata Prize, National level prize in Scatting, Prizes in swimming competitions at the state level are some of the achievements of the school.
