It is one of the most admired school for girls in Maharashtra.
Brief history of the Unit-
- Date of establishment – 1938 Name : ‘Girls’ New School’.
- In 1943 – Renamed as ‘Princess Padmaraje Girls Highschool’
- Mr. G.B.Wadikar, Mr. A.D.Deshpande, Mr.S.K.Kelvakar, Mr. M.B. Lohia had a lion’s share in the establishment of the school.
Landmarks in the development –
- From 1938 – 1954 -At Rented Building ( Only 11 classrooms)
- From 1954 onwards – At Petala Ground.
- Expansion of building at Southern & Northern Part of original building (From 1954 to 1964).
- Expansion for laboratory, music dept. & work experience dept. in 2000.
Present Status –
Total divisions from 5th to 10th = 32, Total number of students = 2205,Two divisions from each std. = Semi English,Two divisions from 8th to 10th =Sanskrit, Rest of divisions = Hindi, Efficient Music & Cultural dept, Drawing section, Work experience section, Library & Sports dept, Advanced Computer section & well equipped science laboratory.
Facilities regarding Examinations-
Mathex (for 5th & 8th std), Hindi Rashtrabhasha exam, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune- English Examinations at 4 levels, M.T.S., N.T.S., Scholarship exam for 7th std., Geetamata Sanskrit exam, Dr. Homi Bhabha Young Scientist exam, Drawing Grade exam, N.M.M.S.exam.
Main Features –
Excellent S.S.C. results, special coaching for S.S.C. students & external exams, Music Training Camp, Leaders’ Training Camp, Mobile Library, Savitribai Phule Dattak Yojana for needy students.
Major Achievements –
- Gayatri Natu stood second in S.S.C. exam in Maharashtra State.
- 4 students got rank at district level in M.T.S., 7 students at district level in scholarship exam, 10 students at state level in different sports & games activities, 1 student – chess champion at state level, 1st Rank in Maharashtra in Pre N.T.S. exam, 2 students got N.M.M.S. scholarship (6000/- per year), Navneet Mega Prize at state level for Drawing Competition, 4 students N.T.S. scholarship holders during the last 10 years, from last five years. R.S.P. unit stood first in parade demonstration competition at district level.
- Sar. Aaishwarya Misal – selected for R.D.Parade at Delhi in Jan. 2011
- Miss . Sharayu Chougule got Cadet Welfare Society Award in 2010-11(6000/-)
