The New Education Society is ranked high among the most reputed educational institutions in Maharashtra. Founded in 1921, by the founder members ,Shri. G.B. Wadikar, Shri. S.S. Shrikhande, Shri. V. H. Sathe, Shri. N. B. Kulkarni, Shri. M. D. Joshi, Shri. N.B. Khebudkar. It has made unique contribution in the field of Education.
Since 1921, ‘The New Education Society’ has established 22 institutions imparting training, ranging from KG, Primary, High School, & Jr. Colleges. We are proud of our long history and academic tradition. At the same time, we are unique in the way we have kept abreast with the new trends in education and have responded to the changing needs of the children.
The Objective of the society is to facilitate education and to bring it within the reach of the masses in particular by starting High Schools and Secondary Schools at different places under private management. It also wishes to establish colleges if circumstances would permit.
Many of our students have topped in the Board Examinations. In addition to the academics, the students are also encouraged to participate in indoor & outdoor games, cultural activities and musical programs. Many of our students have bagged many prizes in various competitions held at state as well as National level.
Late Hon.Shri.Madanmohan Lohia was the President of the NES from 1955 to 1994 ( nearly 40 years). With his extraordinary vision, exceptional administrative skill and rare aesthetic sense, he developed the NES with a remarkable speed. His contribution to the then Kolhapur Sugar Mill, beautification of Shri Mahalaxmi temple and the fort Panhala , the establishment of ‘Jeevan Kalyan ‘ ( in the Sugar Mill) and the revival of the Marathi Sangeet Natak will ever linger in the memory of the future generations also. He is recognized as the architect of the New Education Society, Kolhapur.
