Dr.V.S.Nerlekar Prathmik Vidya Mandir

It was the need of that time to start a primary school and Shri.C.D.Despande , Shri.S.K.Kulkarni , Shri.R.V.Kulkarni , started the ‘Navin Marathi School’ on 1st June 1953. The school is now known as one of the most reputed schools in Sangli District.

Initially the school was held in Vaidya Building and Pise building on rental basis. But fortunately by strong efforts of Shri.N.R.Haniwar, Members of the School Committee, Various donors in the society , 17 various spacious classrooms , independent office, huge play ground , the spacious garden and the compound wall were completed in 1991.Shri Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare and Finance Minister Hon.Jayant Patil inaugurated the new school building named ‘Dr.V.S.Nerlekar Primary School’ in 1994.Every year our school participates in various types of competitions , competitive exams,sports, Sakal Drawing Competition , Singing Competitions etc. Our School participates in Science Exhibition.Our School has created our own pattern for the scholarship examination and now all schools follow this pattern. Upto now 200 students got district level Scholarship and 15 students stood in state level merit list. Miss Swarada Sandeep Kulkarni stood 1st (in state level) securing 300 out of 300 marks.
