D.T. Ed College

The S.T.C Institute was founded in 1955 by the Chhatrapati Vijaymala Education Society. The driving force behind the S.T.C Institute was a group of Senior teachers in ‘The New Education Society’ and some other teachers in the city. In 1956, the ‘C.P.Ed. Institute’ (for physical education) was started with the permission of the central government. Thus the two courses, S.T.C and C.P.Ed , were available only in the campus of the New Education Society. Then S.T.C course was closed due to some technical reasons and  only the C.P.Ed course was in force. In 1965, according to the government rules, the C.P.Ed Institute was transformed into ‘D.Ed’ course and in 1969, the D.Ed course was started by the NES. Again, the name ‘D.Ed college’ was changed into D.T.Ed college .The Institute celebrated its ‘Golden Jubilee’ in 2006-07 by arranging many significant activities .Now this Institution is called ‘Junior College of Education’ and is known for innovative activities and for planning and implementing new teaching strategies ‘Plan your work and work on your plan ‘(of teaching) is the policy of this institution. The Junior College of Education has won the 1st Prize of the ‘Academic Council’ of the NES continuously for three years.
