New High School

The New Education society became a renowned institution within a short span of 25 to 35 year but was still craving for basic needs like playground ,library and laboratory.Then Mr.J.P.Naik who was the mastermind behind kolhapur city planning,proposed some new plans and offered 7.20 acre land to the society.This is the land where the society is standing straight now.

Unfortunately,some parts of kagalkar Mansion collapsed on 4th sept ,1980 and the school needed to be arranged in two different sessions .Immediately, the construction of new school building commenced and the ground floor having 16 classrooms came into being. Now the school is armed with 3 floors and 45 classrooms.10 classes out of 45 are adjusted in New High school Marathi Branch. New High School Marathi Branch No.1 begin in 1928 and New High School Marathi Branch No-2 in 1956. Mr.S.G.Kulkarni and Mr.C.G.Kulkarni, the Secretaries cum brothers, received widespread appreciation and reputation for shaping the institution.

HOCKEY:

• New Highschool hockey team is the only team that represented Maharashatra state conecutively for three years in national Nehru Hockey championship.New Delhi in the years 1995,1996 and 1997 .
• Three times champions and two times runner-ups at state level school competitions.
• 58 players are selected in Maharashtra state hockey team at National Hockey Championship.
• Sport Authority of India scholarships worth Rs 55000/- is granted to hockey players.
• Rajendra kumbhar and Ashish Chopade were selected for All India Hockey camp at Gujarat.

SCIENCE  EXHIBITION

• selection of science project for three consecutive years1993 to 1996 at kolhapur district level science exhibition
• Outstanding achievements and participation in annual science exhibition.
• Selection of Master Ogale Sukrut Madhav at District level Inspire Award cum science exhibition for the appreciable project named power generation through industrial smoke.

CULTURAL –

• Winner in one act play competition in boys category at urban level organized by Kolhapur district Head Master’s, Association for four consecutive years.
• Always secure place  in first three ranks in dramatic speech and one man show competition .
• Noteworthy participation in four group songs.
• Mr.C.D.Joshi a former teacher ,film producer,director,story writer has carved the name of our school in the art history of kolhapur. He is the Chairperson of Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal.

SWIMMING

• Ananda Hindurao Barge won National championship.
• Siddhesh Dalvi, first runner up at state level swimming competition

Art

• Rajendra More selection for National level competition
• Sandip Patil winner in art cum drawing competition organized by Indian Children Academy.
• Vaibhav Nalwade bagged consolation cum cash prize in Divisional Drawing Competition by Sakal Newspaper.

COMPUTER

Independent Computer Department is set up since 2001 with the aid of the Institution and teaches and is working well on it’s own bat. Every year Hon.Mr Lohia Saheb has gifted some computers to the department it has now 20 computers .

EXAMINATION DEPARTMENT

Excellent achievements and participation in NTS,MTS,NMMS,7th std Scholarship ,Elementary examination: Drawing ,Hindi and English ,A to Z Intelligence competition, Abacus competition.
