Sou. S.M. Lohia High School

Established on 1st November 1969 , S.M.Lohiya High School has been one of the leading high schools in Kolhapur and it glorifies the history of the New Education Society , Kolhapur. It has now 1600 students and 40 teachers that are engaged continuously in diverse activities like drama , music , drawing , science exhibitions , environmental protection , interschool-competitions of various types, quiz , elocution sports, apart  from their regular academic work. The aim into inculcate qualities such as leadership , self confidence , discipline and moral conduct.

Late Sriman Madan Mohan Lohiya , Late C.G.Kulkarni and their Colleagues had built a strong foundation of this high school. A well equiped Computer Lab with internet and a rich library cater to the needs of the students. At present , the Semi-English  and Non-Semi English classes are conducted in the high school.Several State-level ‘Inspire Awards for science exhibitions , Swimming , Judo , Fencing , Football , ‘Sakal Balkumar Chitrakala Spardha  award and Navneet Drawing Competition award , Cadet Welfare Societies and Sahara Scholarships are some of the main features of the school. MTS(2011) – 20 Students ; Middle School – Scholarship result 71.42% ; Tilak Maharashtra English Examination results: i) Pre-elementary 100% ; ii) Elementary 93.33% ; Junior Exam 90.69% ; Senior Exam 88.88% ; N.M.M.S – 3 student.
